1. Commitment to Safeguarding
RoboThink is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children who attend our sessions. We believe that every child has the right to feel safe, valued, and respected in all learning environments, whether online or in person.
2. Our Safeguarding Responsibilities
We actively implement safeguarding policies and procedures in line with statutory guidance including:
- Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
- Working Together to Safeguard Children (DfE)
- Local Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) protocols
We have a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) who is trained to Level 3 Safeguarding and responsible for child protection across our operations.
3. Safer Recruitment
All staff and instructors are:
- Enhanced DBS checked
- Reference-verified
- Trained in safeguarding procedures
- Required to complete regular refreshers and annual reviews
4. Child-Centred Practice
Our staff work proactively to:
- Create safe, inclusive spaces
- Model respectful, professional conduct
- Respond to concerns quickly and appropriately
- Treat all safeguarding disclosures seriously and confidentially
5. Reporting Concerns
Children, staff, parents, and schools are encouraged to report any concern, big or small. These may include signs of:
- Abuse or neglect
- Bullying or harassment
- Emotional distress
- Online risks or harmful behaviours
Reports are handled confidentially and escalated to the DSL or local safeguarding teams where required.
6. Digital Safety
Where children access digital platforms or resources (e.g. coding tools), we ensure appropriate supervision, online safety settings, and responsible use guidance.
7. Training and Review
Safeguarding training is part of staff onboarding and is refreshed annually. Our policies are reviewed every year and after any safeguarding incident or change in regulation.
